Casual listeners who primarily use headphones for music at home might not need this level of ANC performance. You could save money with simpler options.

How They Compare to Alternatives

Versus the Bose QuietComfort 45, the Sony wins on ANC effectiveness and battery life. Bose edges ahead slightly on pure comfort for extremely long sessions.

Against the older XM4s, you get better noise cancellation and improved call quality, but you lose the folding design. If portability is crucial, the XM4s might still be the better choice.
